Chardham Yatra- The Abode of Gods

Chardham Yatra (चारधाम यात्रा ) are four powerful seats of gods, also considered as ‘abode of gods’ are considered as an important Hindu pilgrimage. These include Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The yatra begins from the day of Teej in (April) May and ends on the day of bhai dooj.
The number of visitors is the most in May and June due to which less time is given for ‘Darshan’. So the best time to go for Char Dham yatra is in July and from September to October, during which visitors get to go for sight-seeing and enjoy the beauty of nature amidst blissful existence of gods. The four famous shrines are easily accessible as road infrastructure has been improved in those areas. Religious tourists can now travel by jeeps, mini-buses and cars to the nearby areas of shines. 4-wheel vehicles can reach up to Badrinath while motorable roads are located at 10-15 km area of the remaining 3 shines namely Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath.
You can start your yatra from either Haridwar or Dehradun and can visit Rishikesh after completing the yatra. The yatra is open from April onwards but the best time is to begin from May. Given below is some important information about all 4 shrines of chardham yatra.
